The Feed-in Tariff (microFIT) Program will provide incentives to home and business owners to supply energy generated from renewable sources back to the grid, at guaranteed rates for a period of 20 years. With an expected rebate of 80.2 cent per kilowatt hour, clients can realize an estimated double-digit return on their initial investment, all while feeling good about doing their part for the environment. With further government plans in the works to provide low cost financing for residential renewable energy projects, we believe there is no better time than the present to go green.
In most cases, this is how it happens:
1. Our staff will design the most cost effective and productive system for your property, whether it is a ground mount system or flush roof mount system
2. Submit an application to the OPA in order to receive a “conditional offer of microFIT contract”
3. Contact your local distribution company, and discuss the preferred method of connection to the grid. Since we are in the electrical business, our staff can provide assistance in communicating with the LDC’s technical department
The following should be considered, which our staff will be more than happy to provide knowledge and assistance.
-Electrical Safety Authority Permit: This permit application will be submitted by our company, in the project’s name. This permit application needs to be submitted to the ESA before the project’s starting date
-Building Permit: Your local building department may require a permit to install this system. If so, the project scope needs to be reviewed by a structural engineer, and approved prior to the job’s starting date.
-Insurance: Your insurance provider must be notified prior the project’s starting date. Most likely they will require detailed information about your system in order to make adjustments to your existing policy.
